The first year of trading, Granada got whiff of The Diet Plate and we had a smashing day, showing viewers how it worked live on TV, scary but great fun. Have to admit though I made a huge faux par, just as So was wrapping up the section, I butted in with more enthusiasm and put him right off his stride.

He recovered, not sure I ever did - but hey - it was my debut on the telly!
